Snow White

I still remember when I was in standard 6. I was directed by my english teacher (Selvi) to hold a role in a theatre, Snow White & the seven dwarfs. My friends and I practised everyday to give the best performance on the English Day. I was the heroin, Snow White. Not because I want to, but I actually had been forced to (our respect to teacher was so high compared to nowadays).

It was an unforgetable experience. Teacher Selvi gave me a nice gown to wear. The part that I would never forget was when the stepmother came to the dwarfs' hut and gave Snow White an apple to eat. Snow White then fainted on the floor. Aku makan epal tu bebetoi, sedapnye!!

and... the script that I stilll remember is "Mirror mirror on the wall... Who is the fairest one of all...??" (The stepmother asking the mirror).

My friends, Siti played as the stepmother (very hot-tempered), Asmy (control macho) as the price charming, and Azmi was the sneezy dwarf. Acted on the stage, in front of the public (for kampung boys/girls like us) made us tremendously nervous and anxious. But Alhamdulillah we managed to overcame those feelings and showed how confident/ braved/ talented we were. Hehe...

After the English Day (mid year), we were then requested to re-performed during Majlis Penyampaian Hadiah (end of the year), and at the same time, teacher Selvi had asked me to present a story telling about a prince (who was looking for his soulmate, I forgot the title). It's quite tough to memorise those scripts & storylines at one shot but it was very enjoyable.

A few lines of the story telling that's still in my head:

Once upon a time, there was a prince who after wandering the land searching for a wife, return to his castle and told his unhappy parents that he had been unable to find a bride. Now this young man was difficult to please, and he had not been greatly taken with any of the noble young ladies he had met on his travel. He was looking for a wife who was not only beautiful but also wellborn... (that's all I remember)

It's all MEMORIES... stay & still fresh in my mind.

Legal Issue on Contract Law in Malaysia - Good for us to know

Do you notice that most of the time, the receipt / invoice you received from the merchant carries this exclusion clause or similarly worded statement: "Goods sold are not returnable" or "No refund once sold".

Please remember that : "As long as your goods is purchased for home use and not for business (i.e. to be resold), the above exclusion clause is VOID".

That means, as long as the good is defective, regardless of what is worded, you CAN get back all your money spent . You do not have to accept a repair on the good or an exchange. You CAN ask for a refund. AND you are LEGALLY right and entitled to!

And most of the time the merchant will refuse to return you your money. You can threaten the merchant with four words: "SEE YOU IN COURT!"

The court here refers to the Small Claims Tribunal Court. Any goods which is worth RM25,000 and below can apply to this Court. However, you don't have to tell them what court! All you have to pay is RM10 admin fee and the loser (the merchant) will have to refund you the money PLUS the admin fee!

I have seen that most educated people are cowed by such unfair wordings (which includes a few of my friends). Pls try not to let the merchant fleece you the next time you have defective goods.

Suami cuti khas

Semalam aku terbaca dalam newspaper ni, tajuknya berbunyi "Suami perlu diberi cuti khas jaga anak". Hmm... interesting! Berita ni adalah rentetan dari keratan paper yang kat sebelah tu (Sumber: Berita Harian). Menteri kanak2 Britain mencadangkan supaya para suami yang baru dapat baby diberi cuti khas selama sebulan, bergaji! Tujuannya supaya ayah2 ni boleh tolong jaga isteri & baby, secara tak langsung merapatkan hubungan baby & ayahnya.

Seronok la kalau betul2 dilaksanakan. Kat Malaysia ni, ayah2 dapat cuti 2-3 hari je. Tak puas kan!

Hasil kajian menunjukkan, lebih banyak pembabitan ayah dalam menjaga anak, maka lebih cemerlanglah anak tu. Tentulah kita nak tengok anak kita berjaya. InsyaAllah, kena berusaha ni! Menurut news tu lagi, kat negara Scandinavia (tak tau la pulak kat mana), para2 ibu dan ayah diberikan cuti bersalin selama 6 bulan berbayar untuk beri tumpuan kepada baby yang baru melihat dunia ini. Alahai, tulusnyalah hati diorang.

Sedangkan maternity leave 84 hari untuk si ibu pun jenuh nak diperjuangkan di parlimen, inikan pula nak minta sebulan paternity leave untuk si ayah. Entahlah...

World's priciest city

What do u think is the most expensive city in the world? Probably we would say London or New York as I would! Quite surprise when I read from here, Moscow is on the top... London is 2nd while Seoul goes 3rd.

If u want to rent a luxury 2-bedroom apartment in Moscow, u need to have $4000/month. Mak aiii... Even a copy of an international daily newspaper will cost u $6.30.

I have a cousin studying medicine in Moscow. How she & friends manage themselves there with this high cost of living? Lucky they have been sponsored by our government. Receiving allowance of RM2.5k/month, as a student, that's a lot!

In the other hand, the least expensive city goes to Asuncion, a capital city of Paraguay.

Kuala Lumpur? Not in the list, but somehow I personally think it's high. Barang naik harga kan... Government servant's salary increased but what about private sectors'...my friends...and me???Huaaaa...

Maksudnya:

Alkisahnya:
Sebelum kelahiran adrianna, nyonyok ditatang bagai minyak yang penuh... Keadaan berubah selepas aku bersalin, adrianna terus naik mengungguli carta. Of course la kan!

Nyonyok terpaksa dijual kerana:
(1) Wan ada history asma mase kecik dulu, takut baby pun kena
(2) Bulu nyonyok yg 3 inci tu dibimbangi membahayakan baby
(3) Nyonyok punye bhn buangan juga dikhuatiri menyebarkan bakteria & mungkin boleh mengancam baby

Lalu, dgn berat hati wan menyuarakan hasrat utk menjual nyonyok... dan dgn berat hati jugalah aku merelakan... huaaaaa.... sedihnya!!!

Sebab2 kenapa taknak bagi kat org:

Nanti aku jeles tengok org lain bela dia. So, alang2 berpisah biar aku tak jumpa dia terus lps ni...

Nyonyok telah dijual pada 17/02/2007 (eve of Chinese New Year) at Kiddie Pet Shop, Desa Pandan. RM600... tokei kedai amik RM200, tinggal RM400 kitorg guna duit tu beli kipas siling utk rumah baru. So, 'nyonyok' skrg melekat kat siling, berpusing2 bile switchnya di-on.

and..according to that tokei, nyonyok was bought by a serani. So, dgn rasminya kitorg kata yg nyonyok dah tukar agama. Eh.. tukar owner!

Sampai la ni aku dok teringat kat dia & hanya gambaq2 dia sajalah pengubat rindu...

Hmm...dah 2 mggu aku cuti. Kerana Adrianna...my 6-month old beloved daughter...

22/05 - Malam lepas balik kerja, bawak adrianna pegi Poliklinik Harmoni kat Subang Perdana sebab siang tu dah 3-4 kali muntah. Demam.

23/05 - She's getting worse, nafas dia bunyi kuat sgt pastu lemahhhh je. Went back to the same clinic, mintak refer pergi hosp. Then terus pergi Damansara Specialist Hosp, refer kat Dr.Azizi... Terus admitted... ssssssampai la... 29/05 baru discharged.

Dr. diagnosed dia kena Acute Bronchiotis. Kahak banyak ngat kat paru2 dia. So, nak kena keluarkan sampai clear. Pastu mintak lagi cuti 1 week sebab nak jaga dia... Dgn ubat yg pelbagainya, takut babysitter dia pening pulak.. So, I decided to take a very good care of her by myself.

05/06 - Follow up with Dr. Azizi. Alhamdulillah, she's getting fine, chest dah clear cuma kat nasal dia yg belum clear habis...

So, on 06/06 masuk kerja balik. Next follow up will be on 05/07. Hopefully she will fully recover soon. Amin ya rab...
