Adrianna... Adrianna

Today is Shaizwan's birthday. Adrianna's dad + Ainul's hubby birthday...

...and today, Adrianna is One-year and 26-day old.

Adrianna is in a phase of learning session. She is learning how to walk! Her latest habit is head shaking.

She likes to play with her musical ABC-123 learning board, her birthday present on last 18/11. Whenever the mucis plays, she will start dancing & it is a reflection!

She loves reading. I have bought 3 mini books of ABC, 123 and animals for her and those are her favourites!

Law of the Garbage Truck

Beware of Garbage Trucks by David J. Pollay

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly he/she can get back her focus on what's important.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson in the back of a NYC taxi cab. We were driving in the right lane when all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches! The driver of the car who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and yelling bad words at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"

And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call 'The Law of the Garbage Truck'. Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. And if you let them, they'll dump it on you. When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did.

So this was it: The 'Law of the Garbage Truck.' I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets? It was that day I said, "I'm not going to do it anymore". I began to see garbage trucks. I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.

What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by? Here's my bet. You'll be happier. So, love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, TAKE IT! If it changes your life , LET IT! Nobody said it would be easy... They just promised, it would be worth it!

Open House 2007

Our Aidilfitri Open House and House Warming was owesome. It's fun to have guests coming to our house - our family members, relatives, colleagues, friends and neighbours. I was so busy on that day until I didn't realised that these are the only pics that I snapped. Sikitnye!

Kak Sheral and eEy, thanks for coming.

Adrianna with Ikhwan.

Shomeynya Ikhwan! Hafidz and Rozi were the first to come - 1st representative from Dagang Net.

Azura... In-person after 11 years. Last we met, 1996 - I was in form 3. So happy she could come - with her fiancee.

Last but not least, thanks to all of our invitees for spending your little precious time with us. My husband and I really appreciate it. Hope to see u guys again next year, InsyaAllah - if we had been given a chance once again to organize such majlis. Tengok budget jugak la...hehe

Dagang Net @KL Tower

Last 27th October, Dagang Net organized an open house for our staff, biz partner, and vendors. This year, we chose Garden Terrace, KL Tower. Sounds nice hah... but fuhhh... it's really hot. They should provide more and more fans - the best is the fan with the water sprays - like the one we usually saw at mamak stall. I could say that 'garden' concept turned to 'hot sandy desert - grilled on the fire' concept... huhu!

Guys with baju melayu & sampin & gals with attractive traditional dresses eating in sweat & melted make-up. Just imagine how we managed to finish our meal comfortably. Lucky there's ice-kacang stall there. So, we got some cool freshing throat with it.

A pic on that day - Adrianna and Yunus. Both were born in November 2006. Yunus on 3rd while Adrianna on 18th. Both wearing the traditional malay costumes. So cute little babies!

On the next day, my husband, me and Adrianna fulfilled Masri's invitation to his open house at Bukit Subang. I love the lontong lah! Superb delicious. Pandai wife hang buat! Terghuih aku tukaq menu open house aku... hehe... Nak kena bergurukan Wawa nih!

Masri's daughter is sooo friendly. She likes little baby dearly. So, looks like Masri and Wawa need to struggle to get a sister for Yaya lah! See what happenned when two friendly babies met...

Give More, Expect Less

Remember these five simple rules to be happy:
(i) Free your heart from hatred.
(ii) Free your mind from worries.
(iii) Live simply.
(iv) Give more.
(v) Expect less.

Take the forth and fifth one. Give more, expect less. What do u think about that?

People are complex. We've got a lot of stuff both past and present, as well as dreams for our future. Usually, we want to share everything with our spouse. But he can't possibly understand all of our complexities. After all, we are a woman, and all that that implies. And he's a manly man!

And sometimes, this can drive us insane. We love giving more and at the same time, expecting more... but that seldom possibly happen. What we should do? That's why it's important to T.H.I.N.K positive. At this point, it leads to trust, sincere, patience, appreciation and infact - love more! So, let's us give more and expect less!

Beraya di desa

Dalam banyak2 lagu raya, lagu "Suasana Hari Raya" Anuar Zain & Elina dan "Pulanglah" (Aishah) yang paaaling best.

This hari raya is the 1st time for Adrianna Sofea. Since last year kitorang dah beraya kat Jengka (1st time beraya as husband and wife), so this year it's Seri Manjung's turn. Sistem giliran, baru ADIL.

Pada hari raya pertama, my mom-in-law masak ketupat daun palas, rendang daging, kari ayam & nasi impit. Kuih raye je dekat 30 balang, hasil gabungan yg mak, aku & adik Pi beli. Penuh ataih meja. Lepas solat sunat aidilfitri, kitorg bermaaf-maafan, pastu pegi rumah jiran... kampung husband aku ni bukanlah real kampung tapi 'taman'. So, kureng sikitlah feel-nyer... hehe

Then, kitorg bertolak ke Bukit Gantang - to rumah Opah aka adrianna's great grandmom. Pastu pegi umah TokSu Latip @Pdg Rengas & ke rumah pakHasan di Bkt Chandan. Selesai 'acara lawatan', maka pulanglah kami semula ke Seri Manjung. Sampai rumah dah malam, adrianna pulak kena diarrhea & muntah2. Kitorg bawak adrianna gi klinik, pastu abah belanja Mc'D. Huhu... mlm raya makan Mc'Donalds!

Hari raya kedua, mak masak bihun sup daging. Tghari tu paksu & maksu dtg umah. Hujan pulak turun lebat giler. Dlm kul 4pm, kitorg pegi Ipoh, umah mak uda. Sebelum balik, kitorg singgah ke rumah abg mir dulu kat Kg. Tawas Tambahan. Mase on the way balik Ipoh-Manjung tu, hujan turun selebat-lebatnya, sejuk sgt!

Hari raye ketiga - dok kat rumah je. Mak masak nasi ayam. Tghari tu paksu, maksu & anak2 dia dtg. Aku & wan pulak pegi beli kek kat secret recipe sempena bithday aku yg dah lepas; 11 October. Balik je rumah, mase nak potong kek tu, cousin mak sampai 1 family. Nasib baik cukup kek nyer. Haha... Belah mlmnye, abah belanja KFC.

Masuk hari keempat, masak spagheti. Berkampung le kami depan tv makan spagheti beramai2. Sebelah petang, kitorg pegi ke rumah pakngah @Sitiawan. Mak Uda & paktam pun ade. Belah malamnye, abah belanja makan lagi. Yabedabedu! Sedap giler seafood makcik kat Teluk Muroh tu. Freshnye kerang dia... sotong goreng tepung. Yummy!!! Tak puas makan! Sebelum balik kami lepak2 kat waterfront Lumut dulu.

Hari raye kelima, balik KL ler. Cuti dah abih!

The first Malaysian in space

Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor:
“I’ve dreamt of this since I was 10 years old, and now I am living the dream of all Malaysians,” he said, just hours before launching into space at 9.22pm (Malaysian time) yesterday.

His childhood dream was to be an Angkasawan... and today...he is... the biggest achievement a Malaysian even had achieved.

May his 'journey' to the space successful & will return home safely. InsyaAllah. Malaysia Boleh!

Why Yawns Are Contagious

Before u read this, get a pen & paper. Use it to keep track the number of times u yawn while u are reading this page. You may find that just thinking and reading about yawning makes u yawn. The results may surprise u. Did u yawn yet? If u did, make sure u count it.

Everyone yawns. However, the reason why we yawn is a bit of a mystery. When we're bored, we yawn. We assume that we yawn because our bodies are trying to get rid of extra CO2 and to take in more O2 but the researchers found thateven when we exercise (breathe faster), the number of yawns during, before and after exercise was not different. Therefore, it appears that yawning is not due to CO2/O2 levels in the blood but are controlled by different mechanisms.

Why do we yawn? A researcher suggests that yawning is like stretching. It increases blood pressure and heart rate and also flex muscles and joints. If u try to stifle or prevent a yawn by clenching your jaws shut, the yawn is somewhat "unsatisfying". In 2007, researchers proposed that yawning is used to cool the brain. So, how many times did you yawn?

When talking about yawn, I am very sensitive... Till this word, I had been yawning for about more than ten times... and... still... arg!!! I've got enough jaws streching now. What about you?

"A yawn is quite catching you see. Like a cough. It just takes one yawn to start other yawns off."
- Dr. Seuss (in Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book, New York: Random House, 1962)

Will u yawn?

I don't know why everytime I look at this picture, I'll yawn. Even after times by times... I will still yawn. What syndrome is this? Can anyone tell me...?

This is a picture of a Chinese Leopard cub which snarling during a name giving ceremony at the 'Tierpark Hagenbeck' zoo in Hamburg, Germany.

According to the info (Yahoo!), this leopard was born on August 24, 2007.

Wasiat syaitan kepada nafsu

Yesterday evening, after office hour, my colleagues had a chat about the fadhilat of Ramadhan. The interesting conversation ended with this interesting story which is about setan's will to our lust during Ramadhan. I had a chance to 'interrupt' and get the details as below:

Creepy Coincidence?

I received an email from a friend revealing this facts... It's an interesting history about the former of USA's presidents; Abraham Lincoln and John F.Kennedy.

History Lesson

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a
theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh?

More than words

Sometimes, it's hard to express our feelings by words. Action is an option. Perhaps, we could try another way which is through writing. Some fellows prefer to release it out through a journal. It depends. I have a journal to be written to whenever I have something to tell, neither to everyone nor anyone but to someone. Have you ever felt that u need ‘someone’ to talk to?

Magic. How a soulless journal could brings your days up? The journal has the ability to release, enlighten and coolant your bad and good feelings. That’s what a scriber did. I do it too.

The favourite song of mine ever! (besides Superwoman of course!)

Saying "I love you" is not the words I want to hear from you. It's not that I want you. Not to say, but if you only knew. How easy, it would be to show me how you feel.

More than words, is all you have to do to make it real. Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me, 'cause I'd already know.

What would you do if my heart was torn in two. More than words to show you feel. That your love for me is real. What would you say if I took those words away. Then you couldn't make things new. Just by saying "I love you".

More than words... Now that I've tried to talk to you and make you understand. All you have to do is close your eyes and just reach out your hands, and touch me. Hold me close, don't ever let me go.

More than words, is all I ever needed you to show. Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me, 'cause I'd already know.

What would you say if I took those words away. When you couldn't make things new. Just by saying "I love you". More than words...

Happy Birthday Mak

Today, 20th of August is not just an ordinary monday. Today is my mom-in-law's birthday. The day she was born in the year of 1957. This year, we are going to celebrate our 50th anniversary of our Independence Day... and this year too which is today, my mom-in-law is celebrating her 50th birthday.

After worked as a policewoman for 32 years, it's time for Zobedah Zabidi to take rest, spend more time with her family; with her husband, with her children, with us and with her the one and only granddaughter, Adrianna. Today, she will retire. It's the day!

This weekend, she'll be here in KL, to be with us! We love u mak.

Adrianna Sofea

Adrianna Sofea with her ayah.
She is going to 9-month old this 18th of August and is learning to crawl. Love to see when she lifting her body up, and loading her energy to move forward. Very genuine effort.
My friend's son who is same age as Adrianna is already learning to walk! Hmm... paediatrician said "Don't compare, different child develops differently. Few factors could affect it, such as weight, genetic, etc..."
It's ok. Many children walk at the age of one year plus. It's normal. As long as she is healty, happy & active, I would not worry much! Time will come. Saborrr, nanti jalan le dia... At the moment, her ayah can carry her here and there... because my arm is not as tough as his.

Fake pau story

Friends, do u still remember the cardboard-stuffed pau story at China? Once ago, I received an email revealing about the pau made from papers or cardboard which was soaked in chemicals, and then mixed with flavours, curry and meat eventually to make it tasty. Eeeee....

...and here it is. The latest news, the story is F.A.K.E.

A television journalist at Beijing TV, Zi Beijia has been jailed for one year and fined 1,000 yuan (130 dollars) after a court found him guilty for fabricating that fake of food scandal report. He embarrassed his own country. China had been denying this and found that Zi actually had instructed a group of migrant workers to make the phony pau while he filmed them.

However, a public speculation conversed that Zi is innocent and the report was actullay genuine.

Well, what could we do as a consumer. If we confident that it is true, don't eat it. Otherwise, just enjoy its taste... but 'kalau tak ada angin, masakan pokok bergoyang' (no wind, no waving tree).

Grad @ 94 years old

This is a story about a ninty four-year-old Phyllis Turner who received her Masters degree from Chancellor John von Doussa at her graduation ceremony at the University of Adelaide on August 2, 2007. Turner, a great-great-grandmother with a "lively mind" who quit school at 12 is said to be the world's oldest person to earn a university masters degree.

I personally impressed with the determination of this old lady. I feel ashamed of myself for not being as ambitious as she is. Even though I do have that intention, but it seems like the dream is still flying around, searching for it's ultimate destination... Wish to hold masters too someday!

Chocoholic squirrel

Surprise! Everyday, a squirrel will 'take' chocolates from a shop.

HELSINKI (Reuters) - A Finnish squirrel with a sweet tooth heads to a Finnish grocery shop at least twice a day to steal "Kinder Surprise" chocolate-shelled eggs.

"I named it the Kinder-squirrel, after the treats. It always goes after them, other sweets do not seem to interest it as much," the manager of the store in Jyvaskyla, central Finland, told Reuters.

The confectionary, which is intended for children, has a toy inside. "It removes the foil carefully, eats the chocolate and leaves the store with the toy," Irene Lindroos said.

To scare off bloggers

Recently, we were shocked by a police report (by a Muhammad Muhd Taib) pertaining to a fake story revealed by a blogger, RPT. Who is RPT? Raja Petra Kamaruddin, an owner of Malaysia-today. Starting with the issue of " A comedy of errors ", he claimed that our Majlis Raja2 had made a decision to kick our PM due to his inconsistency in developing Malaysia. Well, I have no comment about that, but more than seeking legal redress, what Muhd Taib did was like hoping to scare off bloggers.

By doing this indirectly had declared blogs in the internet as a major influence medium to public. It's quite obvious that web blog is one of public source of reference. In fact, they have put their believe to these blogs higher than to our local newspapers. It's strange but that the truth. My favourite writer, A Kadir Jasin believe that what Muhd Taib is trying to do is actually encouraging RPT to reveal more of his secrecy... Well, just wait and see. I sometimes found that this kind of political issue is quite interesting.

For me, as long as what u wrote is legally right, what should we scared off? I realised that most of my contents are just blending with my own life (syok sendiri kot... hehe...). No matter what happen, I would still standing here. Go bloggers go! Go Ainul Azlinda A.B!

My everything

What do we treasure in life? Happiness... with our love one... and His Mercy. That's it. That's what I'm dreaming of. Being a mother is the greatest thing that ever happen to me. It's infinite, never ever chargeable. It is unchangeable! (Hmm... Special dedication to all of my single friends, come on... get married and have children... sure u will feel the same way too... hehe... )

Allah said:
"...your Lord, who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Hawa), and from them both He scattered many men and women and fear Allah through whom you demand your mutual rights reverence and the wombs (kinship)..."
(Surah An-Nisaa':1)

Allah created everything out of love, therefore He loves what He has created. I believe, a woman’s greatest wish is to become a mother, because that is how He made us. A woman will pray for her children. A woman has such a yearning in her heart for motherhood that this becomes the first thing that she prays for. She will only have one wish despite anything else, and that is the wish to become a good mother. Hope I'll be a good mother (and a good wife too lah...).

*(^_^)* I'm referring here.

New walker

drianna, posing with her new walker... Hopefully she can walk soon!

How excited she was when we showed her this. She can't stop playing with the steering (will play music if it is pushed) and keeps pulling other toys at her right and left sides deliriously.
One thing that I realised is, she likes to move her body to the left & right; just like dancing... funny!
